Hypnotherapy is of benefit to many psychological, emotional and physical issues and disorders. The mind body connection is a strong one, it can both hinder and help us, Hypnosis can help us direct that mind body connection so that it becomes a positive force and the means to helping ourselves. It is used to relieve chronic pain, pain in minor surgery and dentistry. It can shorten the delivery stage of labour and can reduce the need for painkillers during child birth. Hypnosis can ease the suffering caused by anxiety, chronic pain and terminal illness, and it has been shown to help people to overcome addictions such as smoking and alcoholism, and to help with bulimia.
Children and teens are generally excellent at hypnosis and can be helped with many symptoms including, nocturnal enuresis (bedwetting), phobias, anxiety, stammering or blushing problems. Hypnotherapy is one of the kindest ways to treat phobias, and anyone suffering from panic attacks or obsessional compulsive behaviour and stress-related problems like insomnia, may also benefit from treatment with hypnosis.
Conditions exacerbated by tension, such as irritable bowel syndrome, psoriasis and eczema, and excessive sweating respond well, and even tinnitus and clicky jaws (tempero-mandibular joint dysfunction) and fertility issues can be helped by hypnotherapy.
